(This is the old information)
We are excited to announce that we will be holding IPM (Integrated Pest Managment) classes for orchards again this year! Cindy Hale (Clover Valley Farms, and UMD) will be teaching about fruit tree pest and disease issues and how to deal with them in a safe and often organic way.
This class will be held from Sunday June 4th from 12 to 3pm at our orchard in Carlton MN. Please dress for conditions as we will be outside. There may be a mix of standing, sitting, and walking through uneven ground in our orchard. Please consider this when attending this class. These classes are interactive and are limited to only 20 people. First come first serve till classes are full.
Likely issues to be discussed will be diseases and pests such as Apple scab, fireblight, mildew, army worms (yuck!), leaf roller worms, apple maggot, plum curculio, and much much more.
If you want to find out what is eating your apple tree leaves, making those spots on the apples, or maybe even killed your tree, sign up and learn now! As we have worked with Cindy many times in the past, I can assure that you will learn lots and have a good time! Bring a notepad for taking notes. There will be handouts to take home also.
Call if you have any questions.
$25 per person. You must let us know in advance if you are alone or coming as a couple so we can print enough handouts in advance.
